Purchasing a knife; sight unseen is always a worry.
This knife proved itself well. Lightweight, fits well in your
hand, very sharp, nice looks, great price and durable. Haven't
used it to cut a whole lot yet but slices right through cardboard,
rope and string. I look very close at the construction of the
knives I own and this one is so symmetrical and well formed.
Good job Gerry!

I just received one of Gerry's micarta handled neckers, and I must
say it's very nice! This one features natural micarta scales and
52100 steel. The blade length, edge wise is 2 inches, and the
overall length is 5 1/4 inches. The blade is hollow ground down to a
nice thin edge. The finish is hand rubbed and well done at that. The
micarta handles have a bit of a palm swell and overall, it very
comfortable to hold for such a small knife.
I wanted to see how the 52100 steel would behave when confronted
with my usual tests. So, I first sliced 100 strips of corrugated
cardboard from a big ol' box I'd saved. After the 100th slice the
edge felt no different than it did on the first slice. Impressed
with this result, I decided to cut some manilla rope. I'll admit, it
was tiring to cut the manilla rope being that the knife is rather
small and designed for neck carry. I toughed it out and made 100
successful cuts through the rope. I inspected the edge and found no
rolling, chipping, or blunting. It still slices newsprint cleanly.
All in all, this is a very attractive little knife from Gerry, and
most importantly, it's cuts long and well. A definite thumbs up from
me.
Well done, Gerry!!
